Sarawak Energy Warns Of Fraudulent Facebook Page

Members of the public are advised to be cautious of a fraudulent Facebook page impersonating Sarawak Energy’s official account. The page uses the logo of the utility’s mobile application, “SEB cares,” as its profile picture and falsely promotes bill payment services offering discounts of 30 to 35% on electricity bills.

Sarawak Energy would like to remind the public that all official announcements, updates, and recruitment information are posted exclusively on its official website at www.sarawakenergy.com, via its mobile app “SEB cares”, and through verified social media pages. Customers should rely only on these official channels for accurate and up-to-date information.

Anyone affected should immediately cease all communication with the scammers. Any financial transactions made should be reported to the relevant bank, and the incident should be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Sarawak Energy takes these scams seriously and is committed to protecting customers from fraudulent activities. The public is urged to report any suspicious online activities or platforms impersonating the organisation by contacting Sarawak Energys Customer Care Centre at 1300-88-3111 or emailing customercare@sarawakenergy.com. They are also encouraged to report fraudulent pages directly to Facebook.

To avoid scams, bill payment should only be conducted through verified channels such as SEB cares mobile application or web portal, Sarawak Energy payment kiosks, SPAY Global, verified internet banking and POS Malaysia.

Customers are advised to be careful of fake Facebook page impersonating Sarawak Energy.

All payments shall only be made via official channels as listed above.
