Sarawak Energy Hosts Majlis Berbuka Puasa In Miri

Sarawak Energy held a Majlis Berbuka Puasa for its Miri stakeholders today at Masjid Darul Ehsan, Piasau after a two year hiatus from physical events.

Group Chief Executive Officer Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili hosted the breaking of fast with the invited guests in the spirit of Ramadan to foster closer relations and also give back to the local community in appreciation. He was joined by Haji Sulaiman Haji Abdul Hamid, Senior Vice President for Contract and Procurement, Yusri Safri, Vice President for Distribution, Mohammad Saiful Misi, Regional Manager for Northern Region and Abdul Senan Saibon, Sarawak Energy’s Persatuan Kebajikan Pekerja Islam Miri Division chairman.

Also in attendance were Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication (Utility), Adam Yii Siew Sang, Miri City Council Mayor and Dato Haji Abdul Rahman Abang Fadzail, Temenggong Kaum Melayu for Miri Division.

The event also had representatives from Masjid Abu Bakar As-Siddiq, Masjid At-Taqwa, Masjid Darul Ehsan, Surau SMK Dato Permaisuri, Surau SK Pujut Corner, Surau Istiqomah SK Agama Mis Miri, Surau Darul Ikhlas Kampung Senadin Jaya, Surau Darul Taqwa Tudan, Sekolah Sriitiz Miri, Pusat Jagaan Anak Kesayangan Kami and orphans from Peryatim Miri.

Sarawak Energy also made contributions to the management committees of the suraus and schools as well as to the charity homes and orphans of Peryatim.

In his speech, Sharbini said, “The support from our stakeholders which includes the local communities are very important to us as we work to deliver sustainable energy for Sarawak. It is indeed a blessing that we are able to break fast together during the holy month of Ramadan after not being able to do so over the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We would like to express our appreciation to all our stakeholders for your support and I would like to assure you that Sarawak Energy remains committed in its efforts to provide a reliable and modern power system our people deserves.”
