Sarawak Energy and Pustaka Negeri Sarawak To Collaborate On Developing A Digital Resource Centre

Sarawak Energy has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sarawak State Library, formalising a two-year collaboration to develop a digital resource centre for Sarawak Energy through a specific URL called PUSTAKA@SARAWAKENERGY while also developing mutually beneficial programmes and fostering a closer working relationship.

The signing ceremony between both parties took place in a virtual setting and was attended by heads of department, senior management team and staff from Sarawak Energy and Sarawak State Library.

Signing on behalf of Sarawak Energy is its Senior Vice President for Corporate Services, Hajah Siti Aisah Adenan, while the Sarawak State Library was represented by its Acting Chief Executive Officer, Haji Japri Bin Bujang Masli.

The MoU signing was witnessed by Sarawak Energy Senior Vice President for Land, Legal and Company Secretary, James Paul and Sarawak State Library Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Wan Mazli Bin Wan Razali.

During her speech, Hajah Siti said, “Sarawak Energy is pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding or MOU with PUSTAKA to formalise our joint development of an e-Resource Centre, named PUSTAKA@SARAWAKENEGRY, for our employees”.

“Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarawak Energy has transformed the way we learn by moving from conventional classroom-based events to online self-studies and subscriptions courses. With the establishment of this e-resource centre, our people will be able to access vast collections of digital content and information with ease to enhance their knowledge in line with our progressive digital and online learning culture and talent management excellence key focus area.”

Hajah Siti also emphasised that digital standard engineering materials will be made available to public by the state library, aligned to Sarawak Energy’s Corporate Social Responsibility social investment pillar of education and young people.

Haji Japri said, “By developing a digital resource centre, we can contribute towards building a more informed and knowledge-based society by creating a place where mind meets, ideas interact and also provides a platform for accessible information, knowledge, cultures and technologies are not restricted by geographical boundaries”.

He also expressed his hopes for Sarawak Energy employees to take advantage of and fully capitalise on the digital resource centre as well as any services that can be offered by the State Library to develop themselves for self-knowledge.
