Sarawak Energy received His Excellency Mr Pascal Grégoire, Belgium’s Ambassador to Malaysia who is currently in Sarawak on a work visit.

Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili, Sarawak Energy Group Chief Executive Officer, along with some of the Group’s senior management James Ung, Chief Executive Officer for SEB Power, Lau Kim Swee, Chief Executive Officer for SESCO and Ting Ching Zung, Executive Vice President for Strategy and Corporate Development were present to greet Mr Grégoire yesterday and brief him on the company’s business and operations.

Among the topics of discussions include Sarawak’s renewable energy sector being one of the 14 sectors identified to accelerate Sarawak economic growth by 2030 under the Sarawak Economic Action Council and making the shift towards a green energy economy. They also spoke on sustainability initiatives and opportunities for purposeful collaborations and investment Sarawak has to offer in the renewable energy sector particularly through the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy or SCORE.

Sharbini also informed Mr Grégoire on Sarawak’s regional powerhouse ambition to expand the state’s renewable energy footprint and drive an economy that prioritises clean energy in line with the global call on mitigating climate change.

The work visit concluded with a site visit to South East Asia’s first Integrated Hydrogen Production Plant and Refueling Station here in Kuching.
