KUCHING, TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2020: Sarawak Energy is taking all the necessary measures to ensure its power system continues to keep the lights on as Sarawakians stay home under the Movement Control Order.
Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili, Sarawak Energy Group Chief Executive Officer said, “As we continue to comply with all directives issued by the National Security Council (NSC) and the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), we have activated our comprehensive business continuity plan to ensure that day-to-day operations carry on as seamlessly as possible with minimal impact to our customers.
“We have taken steps to divide the team where critical function personnel continue to operate while adhering strictly to health advisories, the other teams are providing support and carrying out their responsibility either remotely or at alternative locations.”

“On our retail front, our customers are encouraged to do their transactions through our mobile app SEB cares which can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple App Store,” said Sharbini. SEB cares also enables customers to view their bills or to report any technical issue and make enquiries.
Power bill payments can also be made via online banking or e-Wallets - Sarawak Pay, Boost and JomPay.
Sharbini said Sarawak Energy has been taking pre-emptive measures since January following the global outbreak of the virus, complying with travel advice and government requirements in doing our part to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19 in Sarawak.
Internal advisories continue to be issued frequently to keep all employees informed on the latest developments on Covid-19 and reminders on how best to protect themselves against infection per health advice from the authorities.
“We continue to comply with all directives from the NSC and SDMC to help the government break the transmission of Covid-19. Customers may contact our 24-hour customer care centre at 1-300-88-3111 should they have any queries. Stay Home, Stay Connected,” said Sharbini.
