Sarawak Energy Recognises Vendors in SEVAA 2020

Sarawak Energy recognised thirteen vendors for excellence in contract delivery at the inaugural Sarawak Energy Vendor Appraisal & Awards (SEVAA) ceremony held in Kuching today.
The awards recipients were evaluated for their performance in health, safety & environmental excellence (HSSE), quality of works, delivery of services and integrity in the categories of ‘Best Works’; ‘Best Supplier’; ‘Best Service’; ‘Best Consultancy’ as well as ‘Best Bumiputera Vendor’ and ‘Promising Bumiputera Vendor’.
Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg officiated the event.
Sarawak Energy was represented by its Chairman, Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Bin Haji Sepawi, Bumiputera Participation Board Committee Chairman and Board member, Dato’ Haji Idris Buang, Group CEO, Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili and the senior management team.
In delivering his keynote address, Abdul Hamed said that through the awards, Sarawak Energy recognises and rewards local and international vendors who have provided exceptional services and contributed to its operations in line with Sarawak Energy’s Key Focus Areas of excellence in project delivery, operations, HSSE, talent management and high performance corporate culture.
“To cultivate a high performance culture in businesses, periodical evaluations are vital to measure performance and help transformation and evolution. SEVAA is part of our procurement excellence and vendor management transformation initiative through which we aim to build stronger partnerships with our vendors by encouraging them to embrace our corporate values, ethics and principles to foster excellence in our key focus areas,” he added.
In launching the SEVAA 2020, the Chief Minister commended Sarawak Energy for its efforts in encouraging and developing sustainable and competitive local businesses to contribute to the overall prosperity of our people and Sarawak.
Abang Zohari added, “To capture opportunities ahead, local businesses must be able to evolve and adapt to the changing market and always be prepared for the future. Digitalisation and innovation are already playing a catalytic role in our economy and those who have adapted to these changes can thrive in this increasingly challenging environment.”
The recipients for ‘Best Works’ award were Bituah Enterprise, SKB Engineering Sdn. Bhd, EPC Synergy Sdn. Bhd and Ecogreen Solar Engineering Sdn. Bhd.
For ‘Best Supplier’ awards, the recipients were Buruuj Engineering Sdn. Bhd., Pertama Printech and P.C. Image Sdn. Bhd. For ‘Best Service Provider’ award, the recipients were Sin Yii Transport Agencies, Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. and Tai Thong Engineering Sdn. Bhd. For ‘Best Consultancy’ award, the recipients were Henry Foong Engineering, Utas Kesturi Sdn. Bhd., and Perunding Dynatech Sdn. Bhd.
Utas Kesturi Sdn. Bhd. received ‘Best Bumiputera Vendor’ award while Buruuj Engineering Sdn. Bhd received ‘Promising Bumiputera Vendor’ award.
SEVAA is an annual event and part of Sarawak Energy’s procurement transformation initiatives in line with its focus on strengthening the management of its vendors and to recognise and encourage Bumiputra business participation and performance.
