Sarawak Energy Introduces ‘Go Paperless’ Campaign to promote e-Bill

KUCHING
31 DECEMBER 2020

Sarawak Energy is introducing its electronic electricity bill (e-Bill) as part of its ‘Go Paperless’ campaign which will commence in January 2021. This initiative is in line with Sarawak’s post COVID-19 economic recovery’s pillar in promoting digitalisation and environmental sustainability.

The e-Bill is an electronic version of the electricity bill and will be e-mailed directly to registered customers for the ‘Go Paperless’ campaign. The benefits of using e-Bill are:-

  • Fast – Receive bill faster to avoid missing due bills.
  • Convenient – View and access e-Bill anytime and anywhere
  • Privacy – e-Bill is sent directly and securely to registered email accounts and this will mitigate the risk of it getting lost or stolen.
  • Environmentally friendly – Reduce paper usage and help to save our trees.

“Customers who sign up for Sarawak Energy e-Bill starting from 1 January to 31 December 2021 shall receive a RM2 rebate in their monthly electricity bills for a period of 12 months, effective from the next billing after the registration. Customers will no longer receive physical bills upon signing up and customers will receive their monthly e-Bill via their registered email addresses. This will ensure monthly bills to all our customers are delivered timely and in a secure manner,” said Lau Kim Swee, Chief Executive Officer for Sarawak Energy’s utility arm, Syarikat SESCO Berhad.

“Please support Sarawak Energy’s sustainability and digitalisation initiative by signing up to the ‘Go Paperless’ campaign and choose e-Billing today,” added Lau.

To subscribe to ‘e-Bill’, customers need to provide name, registered contract account number with Sarawak Energy, e-mail address and mobile phone number. Sarawak Energy also provide various channels/platforms for its customers to sign up to ‘e-Bill’. To register, customers can either walk in to Sarawak Energy service centres, call 1300 88 3111, perform self-registration via ‘SEB cares’ mobile application (available in App Store and Google Play) or via website www.sarawakenergy.com.
