Eligible customers of Sarawak Energy’s 700,000 account holders from the domestic, commercial and industrial categories will have their electricity bills discounted accordingly to ease the financial burden faced as a result of the COVID-19 situation.

The discount package will be provided over a period of six months for electricity consumption from 1 April 2020 till 30 September 2020 and is expected to total over RM166mln plus.

All eligible customers will have their bills automatically computed for their relevant discounts over the stipulated period, beginning with their April electricity consumption.

The discounts range between 5% and 25% falls under the people-focused aid package of the Federal Government under the Economic Stimulus Package (PRIHATIN) with a further top up by the Sarawak Government’s own Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance Package.

The highest 25% discount rate will be for domestic housesholds and comes from a combination of 2 % borne by the Federal Government and an additional 23% by the Sarawak Government.

Customers eligible for the discounts are categorised as follows:

Domestic	Private dwelling purposes with no commercial or industrial activities in such premises.	25%
Commercial (C1, C2 & C3)	Premises with commercial or trading activities.	15%
Industrial (I1, I2 & I3)	Premises with industrial activities e.g. processing factory with atleast 80% motor load.	10% (I1 & I2)
		5% (I3)
