Kuching, 4 November 2019, Monday: Sarawak Energy brought together key organisations under Sarawak’s State and District Disaster Management Committee in relation to emergency and disaster management for the Batang Ai HEP, Sarawak’s oldest hydroelectric plant.

Held at Menara Sarawak Energy, the workshop was organized to gather information and to formalise roles and responsibilities of the relevant parties in the event of an emergency.

Facilitated by Sarawak Energy, the Armed Forces and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the two-day workshop was attended by various government departments and agencies from Kuching and Sri Aman areas.

The workshop was also attended by Chief Executive Officer of SEB Power James Ung and senior management and staff of Sarawak Energy. SEB Power is Sarawak Energy’s generation subsidiary and manages Sarawak’s power plants.

The outcome of the workshop will be validated through a tabletop exercise.
