Overwhelming Response At Sarawak Energy’s APP-preciation Day
KUCHING
11 OCTOBER 2019
Over 2,000 people joined in the fun-filled activities during Sarawak Energy’s APP-preciation Day 2019 at Vivacity Megamall last weekend. The two-day event highlighted Sarawak Energy’s innovative SEB cares mobile app to encourage more users to benefit from the one-stop customer service e-solution provider.
Visitors were assisted by Sarawak Energy’s Retail team on new registrations for SEB cares and introduced to value-adding retail services such as account management, e-billing and technical support.
Officiated by Sarawak Energy’s Group CEO Datu Haji Sharbini Suhaili, CEO of utility arm SESCO Lau Kim Swee and other members of the management team, the event was enjoyed by attendees who joined in interactive games like electric maze and kahoot quizzes to win prizes on offer worth up to RM30,000. Children were also treated to a mini playground and a colouring contest for those aged 7 to 12 years old.
Additional event highlight included the introduction of Smart Meter Project Phase II to residents of Tabuan Jaya Baru, Tabuan Laru and Jalan Kempas. Starting from 7 October 2019, a target of 4,500 smart meters will be installed for free in these areas as part of Sarawak Energy’s overall pilot study to install 6,000 meters by year end.
Home owners with smart meters will receive prompt and accurate electricity bills through real-time meter reading. Customers can easily monitor their daily electricity consumption pattern through SEB cares for better energy efficiency planning purposes.
Prior to giving consent to the meter installation, residents are advised to verify Sarawak Energy’s personnel through their staff identification cards, corporate uniform, safety vests and company vehicles with Sarawak Energy branding. Residents from Tabuan Jaya Baru, Tabuan Laru and Jalan Kempas areas can make appointments for meter installation by contacting Sarawak Energy’s Customer Care Centre at 1300-88-3111.
SEB cares was launched to enhance customer experience by providing customers 24-7 convenient access to utility services. Mobile app users have easy access to billing and metering matters, receive real-time alerts on power outages and planned shutdowns, and can locate the nearest customer service counters. They can submit reports on incidents like faulty street lights, slanting electricity poles and vegetation growing near power lines for action.
The free mobile app can be downloaded through Apple’s App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android. Other available platforms for customers to reach for the utility’s services are via its Customer Care Centre at 1300-88-3111, email at customercare@sarawakenergy.com.my and customer service counters throughout Sarawak.
