KUCHING, 15 MARCH, 2019, FRIDAY: Sarawak Energy confirms that a tripping incident at Murum Power Station at 7.48 am caused partial loss of supply in different parts of Sarawak this morning.

The power station was normalized immediately, while supply was restored to almost all affected areas by 8am. Major cities and towns including Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri were affected.

Early reports indicate that the tripping was due to a fault on the Murum to Murum Junction line and the location of the fault is being investigated.

Sarawak Energy apologises for inconvenience caused by the incident and will provide an update on the cause as soon as it is confirmed
