Sarawak Energy Taking Assault Case On Its Personnel Seriously
KUCHING, 22 DECEMBER 2018, SATURDAY: Sarawak Energy will not hesitate to take legal action against any party or individuals involved in assault and harassmentcases against its personnel and works closely with thepolice to assist in investigations.
In a recent incident, a technician from Sarawak Energy’s utility arm, Syarikat SESCO Berhad (SESCO), was assaulted by a customer after reconnecting supply to the customer's resident at Jalan Sg. Petai, Bintangor.
The team consisting of three members, including an Auxiliary Police, did not retaliate to the assault and immediately lodged a police report after the incident.
The technician who was assaulted suffered minor injury and received outpatient treatment at the Sarikei Hospital.
It is believed that the customer, who operates his own business, was furious because his supply was disconnected prior to the reconnection by the same team. Electricity supply was disconnected when the customer failed to settle his bills of five months arrears.
Sarawak Energy will not tolerate such actions against its personnel.
