Sarawak Energy Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri
KUCHING, 5 JULY 2018, THURSDAY: Sarawak Energy held a Majlis Ramah Tamah in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri for Kuching-based staff and stakeholders today at Menara Sarawak Energy.
The event was graced by Chief Minister of Sarawak The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg accompanied by Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Patinggi Dato Hajjah Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang.
The event was hosted by Sarawak Energy Chairman Datuk Amar Abdul Hamed Sepawi along with Group Chief Executive Officer Sharbini Suhaili, Group Chief Operating Officer Lu Yew Hung and Executive Vice President for Corporate Services Aisah Eden. Also present were Sarawak Energy’s Board members, senior management team and staff who were entertained by festive Raya tunes and enjoyed traditional raya fare.
In his speech, Hamed shared Sarawak Energy’s key highlights in the organisation’s pursuit of excellence in five key focus areas in its ambition to become a top quartile power utility: operations; project delivery; health, safety and environment; talent management and corporate culture.
“As part of the delivery mechanism in pursuit of excellence, Sarawak Energy is embracing technology as we move towards becoming a digital utility that aims to deliver reliable, renewable and affordable for all of Sarawak and its people. This is in support of and in tandem with the State’s ambition for Sarawak to become a digital economy,” said Hamed.
“This is an ongoing journey of improvement but we are pleased that we have recorded some major achievements. As a government owned corporation in service to the people of Sarawak, Sarawak Energy will continue to enhance our corporate practices, processes and culture to become a benchmark corporation powered by our multi-disciplinary workforce of 5,000 Sarawakians,” he added.
As a State-owned power utility and energy development corporation, Sarawak Energy generates electricity supply to power up communities throughout Sarawak and serves as the catalyst of the State’s development agenda.
