Be Informed On Sarawak Energy Via Official Communication Platforms
KUCHING, 1ST MARCH 2018, THURSDAY: Sarawak Energy urges the public and its customers to be cautious regarding alerts and advisories related to their electricity billing, retail services or other operational information received from unofficial sources, particularly on social media platforms.
A recent incident caused public concern when an erroneous claim was circulated via social media that the payment system had been hacked, falsely stating that this had resulted in the system failing to register all payments made between 26 February and 28 February 2018 with customers “advised” to hold on to their receipts for transactions during that period.
Sarawak Energy would like to clarify that all systems are in order and that the advisory is false. Official communication will only be made through official platforms via corporate website sarawakenergy.com.my, mobile app SEBcares, twitter handle @1SarawakEnergy, facebook page Sarawak Energy Berhad and officially endorsed advertisements in the media.
Members of the public who receive suspicious calls or text messages and advisories are advised to immediately contact Sarawak Energy’s 24/7 Customer Care Centre at 1300 88 3111 or email customercare@sarawakenergy.com.my.
