Sarawak Energy Hosts Berbuka Puasa Event

KUCHING, 19th JUNE 2017, MONDAY:  Sarawak Energy hosted a Majlis Berbuka Puasa event today for some 250 guests comprising the corporation’s stakeholders, the media and the elderlies and children from Rumah Seri Kenangan and Rumah Seri Murni respectively.

They were invited to break fast together with the management team led by Sharbini Suhaili, Sarawak Energy Group Chief Executive Officer, as a gesture of appreciation for their support. The gathering also served as an opportunity to give back to the community by sharing the warmth of the holy month of Ramadan with the less fortunate.

“Bersungkei bersama Sarawak Energy is a yearly get together that we organise to foster a closer working relationship with our media friends and stakeholders, and at the same time, give back to the community. Sarawak Energy advocates inclusiveness, celebrates diversity and embraces the different culture of its 4,600 strong workforce and we believe gatherings such as this augurs well in building relationships and fostering closer rapport.

“Our vision is to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for Sarawak while also aspiring to become a regional powerhouse for ASEAN as we strive to provide reliable, sustainable and affordable energy to all our customers and we can only function effectively with support from all,” said Sharbini.

Residents of Rumah Seri Kenangan and the children from Rumah Seri Murni received new clothing as well as ‘duit Raya’ in preparation for the upcoming festivity. Both welfare homes also received donations.

Similar events have been held in Limbang, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu and Sri Aman with Lawas being the final venue tomorrow.
