Sarawak Energy App–Preciation Day At Vivacity Receives Overwhelming Response

“SEB cares” Mobile App Gains 1,500 New Registrations

KUCHING, FRIDAY, 5TH MAY 2017: Over two thousand people turned up and took part in fun-filled activities during Sarawak Energy’s APP-preciation Day at Vivacity Megamall last weekend. The event was held specifically to promote SEB Cares mobile app and to increase mobile app users to benefit from the digital technology advancement for their convenience.

Over 1,500 new registrations of the app were recorded on the weekend.

Yusri Safri, Sarawak Energy Vice President for Retail said, “We thank the public for such a good turnout at the event. Over 2,000 visitors came together with their families to participate in the games and activities. Throughout the promotion period, we received 1,500 new registrations for “SEB cares” and out of this, about 900 registrations were made during the weekend event at Vivacity.”

“Looking at the response, we are considering extending the promotion to other regions in the state. Other than the mobile app and e-services promotion, we took the opportunity to meet with our customers in a more casual setting, listened to the feedback on our services and attended to their enquiries.

At the event centre, the Retail team assisted customers to download the“SEB Cares” mobile app, check their accounts and print bills.

Sharbini Suhaili, Sarawak Energy’s Group CEO, made a visit to the event centre on the first day of the event as a show of support. Sharbini was accompanied by Lau Kim Swee (刘金瑞), SESCO CEO and other members of the management team.

The highlight was an electronic multi-level maze offering cash prizesranging from RM30 to RM500 per session. The kids’ fun zone, offering mini playground, sand art, face-painting, block games and other exciting activities for the children, was also well patronised. Deejays from Astro’s Hitz FM crew facilitated the event and Astro’s signature programme, Karok Karan was also a crowd puller to the venue.

“We would like to thank Astro Radio and Vivacity Megamall for working with us in making this event a success,” said Yusri.

An electrical safety information booth was also set up at the event area to raise awareness on safety tips for prevention of electrical incidents and to inculcate safety awareness among the public especially children. Activities at the safety booth included quizzes, safety tips, tips on conserving the environment, cross word puzzles and safety awareness-themed coloring.

“SEB cares” was launched last year to enhance the utility’s customer service experience by providing an additional platform to stay connected with the company, anywhere, 24 hours a day.
