Sarawak Energy CEO Wins The Most Influential Clean Energy Advocate Award
SARAWAK, KUCHING, 19 APRIL 2012 - Torstein Dale Sjøtveit, Chief Executive Officer of a State-owned utility company Sarawak Energy, has been voted as the Most Influential Clean Energy Advocate Award in conjunction with the 15th Power & Electricity World Asia Conference held in Singapore. This premier conference is the largest and most influential utility show in Asia.
In addition to this category, there are other five award categories and they are Asian CEO of the Year; Power Woman of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award; Investor of the Year; and Sustainability Award.
The award presentation held on 17th April 2012, is the 3rd Annual Asian Utility Industry Awards designed to celebrate and honour the contributions from individuals and organisations toward the growth of the utilities sector in Asia Pacific. The nominees are selected through rigorous market research and are polled by the industry to victory. For The Most Influential Clean Energy Advocate Award category, the other nominees were Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Francis Yeoh, YTL Group Managing Director; K Subramanya, Tata BP Solar CEO; Federico Lopez, FirstGen Corporation CEO; and Tetsuro Nagata, Eurus Energy President.

This award is designed to recognise the outstanding contribution of an individual who has been the main driver in enforcing clean energy standards across his/her organisation.
Torstein was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Energy on 1st November 2009. Prior to joining Sarawak Energy he was the President and CEO of the largest shipbuilding group in Europe, STX Europe AS formerly known as Aker Yards ASA a stock listed company in Oslo. Before STX Europe he worked for 27 years in the global industrial and energy company Norsk Hydro, and brings with him a strong international energy and top management experience to Sarawak Energy.
