Sarawak, Kuching 10 August 2012 – Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) deeply regrets the inconvenience and disruption caused to our customers by a temporary shortage of power that may have affected some parts of Sarawak today.

SEB’s Grid System Operator, Mr Yong Ying Poh said, "Bakun unit 8 tripped at 9.56am this morning, and subsequent to that, the Bintulu Combined Cycle Plant experienced technical problem that resulted in sudden drop in electricity load from 110MW to 47MW. SEB immediately initiated restoration works at 10.06am and power was fully restored at 10.59am".

“The cause of today’s problem is still under investigation", said Yong.
