MUKAH, 21 November 2012 –  Sarawak Energy deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to residents in Matu Town and Daro as a result of a broken electricity pole.  According to Sarawak Energy Berhad's Regional Manager for Central Region, Choo Min Chong, "A breakdown was reported at 9pm last night and a team of technicians was immediately deployed and found a broken pole. The fault was quickly isolated and electricity supply was quickly restored to Kuala Matu".

Due to restricted ferry operations and adverse weather conditions the delivery of the required restoration materials were held back causing further delay in restoring supply to Matu Town and Daro. Our teams of technicians have been working around the clock and a new pole has been replaced. We are working on the finer details to prepare the pole before it can be safely energized.

Power supply to Matu Town and Daro is expected to be restored by 8pm tonight.
