Integrated Management System (IMS)

Sarawak Energy has multiple ISO certifications namely, Quality Management System - QMS (ISO 9001:2015), Occupational Safety and Health Management System - OHSMS (ISO 45001:2018), Environmental Management System - EMS (ISO 14001:2015), Information Security Management System - ISMS (ISO 27001:2013) and Asset Management System - AMS (ISO 55001:2014). These Management Systems are integrated into a single system; Integrated Management System (IMS).

An Integrated Management System (IMS) allows the implementation team to manage one system that helps to effectively and efficiently deliver the organisation’s objectives. An IMS of two, three or more management systems can:

  • Reduce costs (e.g., Certification Fees)
  • Minimise downtime of key systems (due to audit activities)
  • Reduce external audits (i.e., Integrated Audit)
  • Reduce conflict (e.g., avoiding redundancy of documents and practices)
  • Increase performance (i.e., integrated effort in achieving one goal)
  • Improve stakeholder management
  • Increase employee and customer satisfaction

IMS can assist in maintaining a sustainable business model. Otherwise known as the ‘triple bottom line,’ the Three Pillars of Sustainability are commonly identified by the 3Ps: Profit, People and Planet.
